Untitled Moments #24. This series is a call back to a time when posts like this one weren’t filling our thoughts and captivating our concerns. Painting for me is a slowing down. It is a practice of observation, #o pt movement and reflection. In this work I found myself sitting with pure feeling, free from words or a need to define exact feeling. Each time I returned to the canvas it was a reminder simply to be without the need to explain myself or to attach myself to a group. The act of verbally communicating about my feelings has always been difficult to me. I think that is probably why I have been drawn more towards abstract works and poetry rather than a more narrative creative style. After a busy week I finally got the have to sit down and look through my photos of last months ‘Untitled Moments’ show. It feels surreal to have been able to show my work in such a beautiful space. I’m so thankful to @nkusota and @widemanpaige for showing my work and for creating such a positive environment to show wha was nearly a years worth of my favorite work. One week from tomorrow I’ll be closing my first solo show in over 10 years at Northern Kentucky University. Photos to come but for those in the area consider this a formal invitation to come see my work in person from 5-7pm at the third floor gallery in the School of the Arts building.
